When unix ls command gives results in different colors, use the below command to make the ls normal.

Which means ls will give the results in default color.

Syntax:  unalias ls

ResultSetMetaData in Java

Take a scenario in which a query like “select * from Table1” is executed at database using the

Statement object and the ResultSet object is returned. The column count and the data type of each

column are not known. ResultSet object does’t provide any methods to get the information about the

data it has stored. So to get such information, we were provided an interface ResultSetMetaData which

is available in the package “java.sql”. Meta data means data about the data. As ResultSetMetaData is an

interface, we cannot create an object to it directly by using the keyword “new”. ResultSet interface has a

method getMetaData() which returns ResultSetMetaData object. Below are some of the most useful

methods available in ResultSetMetaData.

ResultSet in Java

Result Set is a table of data representing a set of records in a database, which is usually

generated by executing a Statement that queries the database. Each result set maintains a cursor which

points to the rows in the result set. Generally the default position of the cursor is before the first row of

the result set. Before going to discuss more about Result Sets, we will see what a Database cursor is.

A Database cursor is a private memory location in the main memory where the collection of

records are stored and from where the records can be fetched.

Filters

A Filter intercepts requests and responses at run time to make some actions on information

contained in the requests or responses. Filters typically do not themselves create responses. Before

executing any business logic based on the request sent by user, we can do tasks on the user request like

authentication or appending attributes to the requests etc. As well as, we can handle the responses sent

from the servlet or bean (business logic), before they reach client. All these can be achieved in Java by

implementing the interface javax.servlet.Filter.
